Furniture Stores? What are some of the good furniture stores out now? Not Rooms to Go or Haverty's. I'm looking for a new Bedroom suite and i've heard Rooms to Go isn't very good and I looked at Haverty's website and wasn't impressed with their small collection. Thanks!! PS-I live in Georgia, so it would need to be deliverable to my state. Barn Babe replied: "Rhodes
Sofa Express
Furniture Fair
Broyhill
Pottery Barn
Also, try some local Amish stores or websites, they make awesome furniture and it's always sturdy and well constructed. I don't know how shipping would be handled though! There are Amish communities in Ohio & Pennsylvania.
I know here in my area there are a couple REALLY nice mom & pop shops that custom finish furniture. You might ask around and look for something like that."
leslie replied: "Thomasville and Ethan Allen make and sell fine furniture. It's a bit pricey, but will last forever."
yellowcabbie replied: "For bedroom suite, you can try

H3lloKitty replied: "http://mariesmanorbedrooms.com/decor-accessories.html" Why do Furniture stores have such ugly furniture here in the USA? I'm looking for very modern furniture, but most furniture stores offer the same old fashioned look. I know there are a few stores which offer a modern & contemporary look, but overall I think Americans prefer a different look than Europeans for example. The furniture stores in Europe are all so beautiful and you go wild, but here it's almost painful to select furniture.
I usually buy then over the internet, but it costs me a lot of money.
Why is it that even young Americans prefer to buy that old fashioned "oak-style" look??? Anybody from the furniture industry here on YA who wants to explain why stuff looks always so old-fashioned? mykidsrsaints replied: "I'm in the midwest and my favorite furniture stores are Carsons and Macy's. They definitely have that oak style stuff you are talking about (I don't like that either), but they also have what I call "contemporary casual" furniture.
You might try Pier One and Crate & Barrel, I think they have some ultra modern furniture."
Priscilla L replied: "I AGREE WITH YOU!!!!! The furniture in the USA is the ugliest of all. I think they just like the oldfashioned oak style a lot, because it's CHEAP! Most Americans don't care about the look of their furniture. It just has to be big and comfy and cheap!
And furniture from Pier One or Crate and barrel and whatsoever is NOT what we Europeans call MODERN & CONTEMPORARY. They are better though then stuff from the Furniture mart....
I also wish there were more selections, more modern and more contemporary....
maybe one day it will catch on.
Good luck in finding and ordering your furniture online!!!
PS: That's what I do!"
duker918 replied: "Sounds like you are asking why Americans have such bad taste. And it's bad taste because it's not your taste. When Americans go to Europe and say "well, back home we have........." they are crucified for not accepting the local flavor of whatever it is at the time. You sound like the Ugly American in Europe." What good furniture stores are in northern Virginia? I am moving soon, just about all of my current furniture is going to end up at Goodwill (pretty much all I will keep is this computer desk & printer stand). Some of the furniture is over 20 yrs old - I am 27 so I've had a lot of it all my life & I am sick of the stuff I have even though it is not falling apart.
Anyways, I have not lived in northern Virginia long enough to really know where good furniture stores can be found or what the names even are.
I'll be living in Fairfax soon after I get out of Falls Church. I am going to be getting a new bedroom, living room & dining room set. Price is not too much of an issue but I want to keep it within reason. TONY R replied: "there are none"
The Black Jason Bourne replied: "IKEA, BROTHER!!!" What are some good discount furniture stores in Delaware? I live in southern NJ, close enough to make a trip to DE to buy furniture worth it, since I won't have to pay tax. Unfortunately, I don't know what furniture stores sell things at decent prices in DE. In NJ we have the dump and PA there's the Ikea. Are there any good furniture stores in DE we can check out? Thank you for any help you can provide. 2Cute2B4Got replied: "Big Lots" I am looking for good furniture stores in the Bay Area in California. Any recommendations? Good luck!" Is there any good furniture stores in chicago? When I look at reviews online for reputable furniture stores (Harlem and Ashley) all I find are horrible reviews. I just don't want to regret spending thousands of dollars on furniture. Debbie V replied: "Try Harlem furniture(the room place)"
lexi j replied: "Dania. There's one in Northbrook, Lombard, Hoffman Estates, and Orland park. I'm poor so I don't shop there, but my parents go in there all the time. Whether it's to actually buy something or inspiration for my dad to build something. Lot's of leather!!
It can be compared to Ikea in the sense that it's very affordable and obviously rooted in Scandinavian design, but your house most assuredly will not look like a college dorm room and you don't put the furniture together yourself.
I'd stay away from Lombard. Never been to that one, but I was just looking at some reviews and it did well, but not as well as the one I'm used to which is in Northbrook on Skokie."
DaNia A replied: "Try Dania, Walter E. Smith, or if you live out south Seaway Furniture." What are some very expensive furniture stores? Does anyone know of some very expensive high class furniture stores? I want to make a small couch/love seat/ chaise lounge and I need inspiration and I have looked at all of the basic stores like Pottery Barn and I didn't find anything that I fell in love with. Sarekay replied: "Thomasville, Neiman Markus"

Voodoo replied: "Ethan Allen and Norwalk Furniture are fairly upscale (for chains).
But there are numerous specialty and boutique furniture retailers, as well ... I don't know where you live, or exactly what style of furniture you wish to take your inspiration from, but if you Google something like "fine furniture (your city)", you might find a source you didn't know about."
docsauntcc replied: "you may want to go directly to the furniture manufacturer and then find where they sell...try Mitchell Gold and Stickley to start."
Greg C replied: "I am listing several good manufcturers that you can google. Once you are at their websites you can view their products. If you like some, then the site should have a drop-down that says source near you and you can put in your area code to see where the product is. A store may not have a specific chair, etc. so you can call with the product number and the store can say whether it is on the floor. The store will have similar products and fabric choices for ordering. I have sold most of these and they are excellent.

It would be great that it's not at a designer price, does Gronland/Grunerlokka have any furniture stores? Romeo replied: "This store delivers." Are there any furniture stores like Value City Furniture in the South Eastern States? I'm looking to buy some new furniture. I went on Value City Furniture's website and loved a lot of their collections! My husband and I are looking for a great living room collection [sleeper-sofa, loveseat, and chair] for a decent price. Unfortunately, Value City Furniture is only located be in the North East. We live in the Gulf of Mexico near New Orleans.
We are looking for quality furniture at a reasonable price. Something just doesn't seem right when you have to spend 2,000+ on these items--per piece. Do you know of any great furniture stores in a reasonable price range? Where do you purchase your furniture? R replied: "Rooms to go or Rooms to go outlet if there is one near you
Before moving to Ohio that is where i got my stuff from" What are some great furniture stores for teens? What are some good teen furniture stores? Or some stores with decorations for teen rooms? fish11377slapper replied: "target, ikea.... i dunno"

Try Raymour & flanigan. They have a great variety of teen and adult room furnishings. If they do not have what you want in stock they can even custom order things for you."
Jess replied: "Target, Ikea, Room and Board, Bed Bath and Beyond, Linens and Things are all great stores for teens!"
jimmybond replied: "try pro=lite, teynampet, chennai."
SnowWhite replied: "I like Bed Beth & Beyond, Linens and Things,Ikea, and Target. Try looking for an outlet or Antique place. I know one of here in Houston, TX (Im not sure the name of it) that has tons of cute and modern furniture. They have armoires, bedframes, TV stands, all kinds of stuff in bright bold colors, all kinds of sequins and jewels.....Everything real "funky" for a teens room (Heck, even for a party room, bar or anything bright and modern)." |
